Brady Named MVP 01/05/2008

Tom Brady won the MVP award recieving 49 of 50 votes. Brett Farve was the only other person with a vote.

This is no shocker, Tom Brady broke about every record possible and dominated the whole NFL, leading his team to 16-0. He is very deserving of this record and let's see if he can win another Super Bowl, QB ever.

Congrats to Brett Favre who got the other vote. Any other normal year and he would have had a chance. The guy was amazing this year with guys half his age. Lets see if he has any gas left in the tank after such a strong year.

Adrian Peterson won the Offensive Rookie of the year and that is no surprise to anyone after watching this kid the whole year.

He ran great and was really a big time threat for any team to deal with. He was able to get 46 and a half votes while Clevelands Joe Thomas got the other 3 and a half votes.

Congrats to AP for being the Offensive Rookie of the year.

JMan's Rant 01/01/2008

First off, Happy New Year to everyone and I hope the New Year brings you and yours everything you want. I would like to say  Thanks to our soliders over in Iraq as well as around the World, because Lord knows they dont get enough credit for what they do.

Now on to my rant. Yes, by now if you dont know, the JMan is a Titans fan, and I have got to Rant about how sick I am of Browns fans/writers/basically everyone who is all upset about the Titans being in the Playoffs and not even giving them a chance against the Chargers.

Ok Cleveland Fans, I love you guys  and I love the team that you have got, and I know you are heading in the right direction. You guys cant complain about the Titans getting in and you guys sitting home this Playoff Season. All you had to do is beat the Bengals, and the Colts game wouldn't have mattered but you didn't. Browns fans tell me they can beat the Titans, you dont know that. Our D is one of the best in the leagues and our offense is really a few big plays away from being good.

You lost to Pittsburgh twice, you lost in New England, but so did everyone else, in Arizona and in Cincinnati, and in Oakland. Look at the teams you beat, Bills,Niners,Rams,Ravens,Texans, I mean your going to sit there and say your better then the Titans when you beat these teams. Get out of town Browns fans. You blew it in the Jungle.

On to this weeks playoff game. No one is giving the Titans a shot when the Titans had the Chargers beat only a few weeks ago. They beat them up for 3 and a half quarters. The game was a physical game something Cleveland knows nothing about and this is why the Titans have a good chance at pulling the upset.

The Titans will have to find a way to slow down LT. Rivers isn't that good and im not worried about him. LT is unreal and if you dont slow him down then you wont have a chance. The Titans D can play with this team and slow them down. The Titans O can run the football and set up the play action fake. They also are great at dinking and doinking the ball down the field. I dont want to hear about their recievers not being good either. Did you watch the game Sunday night? Not one drop, and all of those guys are good blockers as well.

But JMan VY has played so bad and he is beat up and he just isn't that good anymore. Blah Blah Blah, im so sick of hearing about it. The guy is still good, hes still young and hes around a very young team. He played great on Sunday, he didn't turn the ball over. He led a perfect drive right down the field on the Colts first string to open the game up, on the road, in a dome. So, there ya go.

Bottom line is, you better start respecting the Titans. They are going to come to play this Sunday in San Deigo. Their is a lot of bad blood and this game could be a down in the trenches type game. If LT is slowed down the Titans will win the ball game, because Rivers cant beat them. I see the Titans being able to move the football against the Chargers and I think a fg will decide the game and I'll go with Bironas and the Tians.

In this segment we will evaluate coaches for prominent coaching positions in sports.

Let's look at the Atlanta Flacons head coaching position. Bobby Petrino bailed on this team, not soon enough to prevent it from tainting his credibility for the rest of his career. I think the Falcons are a hurting team, but the right motivator and leader can turn it around like Dick Jauron in Buffalo, who has done a lot with the limited talented players on his squad.

College coaches are unproven and highly unpredictable and there is only one real successful coach to make the transition and that is Jimmy Johnson. Butch Davis had minor success in Cleveland, but was canned after not leading the Browns to more playoff appearances.

Atlanta needs to look at coordinators and one of the best is Offensive Coordinator Jason Garrett of the Dallas Cowboys, he has made that Dallas Cowboys offense a juggernaut. He has had questionable play from Tony Romo, but he has made that team an offensive tour de force. I know your thinking Petrino was an offensive coach as well, but Petrino relied heavily on great players to succeed and needed Michael Vick for him to be even remotely successful. When Vick went down, so did Petrino.

Garrett, will provide creativity to a struggling offense and find the right Quarterback for his team. He turned Romo around and made him into a Pro bowl caliber Quarterback. It can be debatable how much of an impact he has, but he has turned him into a play maker on offense. Something that wasn't seen before he got there.

The Falcons will be building through the draft, so they will probably draft a quarterback or go after someone like Derek Anderson. But, I expect them with Garrett to get the guy that will play the best in his offense and their defense is not terrible they just need more play makers. I think Garrett could bring winning and stability to a unstable position in Atlanta.

Most of this talk is cheap until after the playoffs, but we will see how Arthur Blank handles the situation this time around. Hopefully, he will be more successful then last time and learn his lesson about hiring college coaches.
